The Summer is coming, we're opening our windows here in the North East. Isn't it time to get our spaces in order? I know my children will be out of school soon. There is little time to dig under the kitchen sink, pantry, or bedroom closet and to straighten things out when you have little ones wanting your attention, never mind the warm sunny weather outside calling me.
So beginning these projects always start out as a small project, but then you notice the mess in the cabinet next to the one your working on, and then on top of the refrigerator and before you know it everything is pulled out, and 3 hours later you feel rushed to put everything back so not to have a mess before dinner or heading out!
Where to start?
1) Choose a small area, even if it is in a large room. Stick with that area, keep a box near by for items to relocate. And try to keep focused on that area only, it is easy to wander.
2) Don't be afraid to throw things out. Do you have a stash of dry herbs that are 3 years old, its time. Don't let the guilt get to you on how much you spent for that one spice that you used only once and the chances you'll use again are slim. You will feel much better when your area is organized. Remove the guilt.
You can do this! Just start small. If you still feel overwhelmed maybe it's time to ask for outside help. It's an easy way to make good progress and you don't have to do alone. A professional can help guide you and give you ideas that you may not have thought of before. Check out my website for additional information, www.livingorganizedhealthy.com
