As I reached into my makeup drawer today, and lifted out my new mascara, I saw something that I subconsciously realized I had done. I did not throw out my old mascara. (I know, I know, insert theatrical suspenseful music here).
I bought the new one because I knew the one that I had was getting old. But why had I held onto the old one. It should be an automatic reflex for me, when I bring in the new out goes the old. But it didn't happen that way. Why? Well I will admit to myself and to all reading I do know why. I was afraid I wasn't going to like my new mascara and was afraid of letting go of the old one, just in case. Now I've been using the new mascara for a few weeks, and though I don't love it as much as the other brand I was using I knew what I needed to do. It made it into the trash with a small thud. I know the stories and the information in regards to old makeup and the germs they hold, so it had to be done. But it just shows you that it's so easy to hold onto even the small things in life because well, just in case. Even for an organizer as myself.
